What is a Virtual Assistant, or VA?
Simply put, a VA is a Virtual PA who works remotely from their clients on a self-employed basis.
A Virtual Assistant (or VA) provides a professional administrative service to clients on a self-employed basis. A VA works from their own (usually home) office utilizing the latest technology to communicate with clients.
A VA tends to foster long-term, ongoing client relationships, although VAs also work on one-off projects.
Virtual Assistants will have at least five years experience working at a senior level as either a PA, Executive Assistant, or Office Manager prior to setting up their own business. (Without this experience they will be unlikely to provide the level of service clients require).

The VA Business Start Up Course is delivered in the following formats:
- 1-2-1: Personal mentoring supporting you individually through the training
- Group Tele-Classes: work with a small group of like-minded individuals
- Self-Study: work in your own time at your own pace by taking the eCourse
- NEW face-to-face two day workshop + group tele-class follow up support
The VA Business Start Up Course is going to be offered for the FIRST time in a two-day workshop format on 15-16 September 2008.

Accommodation for 2 nights (Sunday, 14 & Monday, 15 September) at this boutique hotel is included in the course price of £1250. (Pay now in full and save 5% at £1187).

Remember: you can set up your VA business offering either one specialist or a variety of services. If you are an event manager, medical transcriptionist, book-keeper, or legal secretary you CAN also be a VA!

I consciously chose to move to Brighton in 2002 to improve the balance in my own life. Brighton is famous for having two piers: the Palace Pier, reflecting all the tacky glamour that the seaside resort is known for and the West Pier, representing the heritage of the city and now, sadly, mostly submerged under the sea. I wanted a name that was personal to me and reflected the place I've chosen to call home.
On a whole other level the term "peer" reflects how I work with coaching clients -
promoting an equal relationship between peers, with the power firmly resting between the both of us.
